Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro is internationally renowned for its culture and beautiful landscapes (beaches, coastline, mountains), which are included in UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Rio is an exciting city perfectly situated between a tropical forest and the Atlantic Ocean, which provides its residents and visitors a majestic realm of colors, sounds and cultural activities.

It is the main cultural hub and tourist destination of Brazil, with a large variety of attractions and restaurants, offering both Brazilian and international cuisine.  With over 6 million inhabitants, it has a complete infrastructure to host events. Its international airport has direct flights to Europe, North America and Asia.

With an intense cultural life, Rio is the perfect place for those who want to immerse themselves into South American culture: plays, shows, concerts, exhibitions, street performances, scientific conferences, cultural debates - everything happens in Rio.

The city will host the 2016 Summer Olympic Games from the 5th to the 21st August. During the winter months (June-September), the weather in Rio is very pleasant, which make it a perfect time to visit. In July, the typical temperature range is 10-25C and the average number of rainy days per month is 6.
